Using a string line or machined lumber (dimensional lumber is not adequately straight for this measurement). Measure the distance between the fence of the L1/L2 drives and the fence on the outfeed conveyor. If the distance is no more than 1" behind the L2 drive fence, proceed to the next section. If the distance is greater than 1" behind the L2 drive fence, adjustment is required, contact Alpine Equipment Customer Service for assistance completing this procedure. 4. Calibration Procedure NOTE The Manual Control Screen is referenced throughout this section. Please see Figure 26 when this screen in referenced. 4.1 Turn Off Power Step 1 – Turn off the blade motor and the conveyor Step 2 – Open the saw cabinet door Step 3 – Shut down the computer Step 4 – Disconnect electricity and air supply. Step 5 – Lock and tag out the electrical and air supply in accordance with OSHA procedures (i.e. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147). 4.2 L1/L2 Belt Feeder Alignment ! CAUTION Misaligned belt feeders will cause cutting errors and rapid belt wear. Step 1 – Use a straight edge (aluminum bar is recommended) on the belt and against the back fence, as shown in Figure 56. There should be no more than 0.010" (.25mm) gap between the straight edge and back fence rollers or belt. Check Gap Here Straight Edge Figure 56 Step 2 – Place the straight edge on the side plates, as shown in Figure 57. Ensure the straight edge has no more than a .010" (.25mm) gap between both side plates. Step 3 – With the straight edge on both side plates (or using a level), insure both L1 and L2 feeders are level. This is shown in Figure 57.
