20 ALS 4.0 P R O D U C T M A N U A L EN 3.7 Printer Setup The inkjet or label printers can be setup by clicking or touching Printer Setup on the Options menu shown in Figure 31. Select the model printer by clicking or touching MODEL in either section of this screen. The model name is located on the front face of the print controller as well as in the included documentation for the print controller. Figure 36 3.7.1 Ink Jet Setup Click or touching SETUP in the Ink Jet Setup section (Figure 36) will bring up the following screen. 1 2 Figure 37 The Print Data information on the right side of this screen allows customization the information that is printed. Up to five of the items in the list under Print Data can be selected. Each time the white box next to each item clicked or touched, the Order number will cycle from 0 to 5. The number determines the order in which the items will print from left to right by the ink jet printer. On the screen above, four items will print in order from left to right, they are Job Name, Truss Name, Piece Name, and Quantity (of that piece for that truss). 3.6 Utilities Figure 34 The UTILITIES button (Figure 34) is located on the General Options Screen. Clicking or touching this button will bring up the screen shown in Figure 35. 2 1 4 3 Figure 35 1. The LOCATE button locates programs on the saw computer's C:\ or network drive. When clicking or touching the LOCATE button, the Windows Explorer dialog box will open. Locate the appropriate file on the computer. Once located, the path to the program will be retained in the "Program to Execute" text bar (circled). Use this feature if you frequently need to run programs outside of the ALS software. NOTE Click or touch SAVE to retain the file path. 2. To run the program click or touch RUN. 3. UPDATE PROGRAM – Closes the ALS 4.0 program and opens the utility for updating the ALS 4.0 program to the latest version. The update tool will ask for the location of the update (USB, FTP site, network location, etc.). The utility will then save the current program version to a backup location and then install the update along with any other files required as part of this process. The on-screen prompts will assist you in completing this process. 4. CALCULATOR – Brings up a calculator.
