31 ALS 4.0 P R O D U C T M A N U A L EN 3.14.3 Cutting lumber in Auto Mode NOTE The operator runs the saw the same as with an auto infeed. 3.14.3.1 Cutting a recut while in Auto Mode The operator presses the pause button - this stops the system from picking any additional lumber. NOTE The system can still have lumber on the live deck that will need to be removed. After pressing pause, the screen below appears. The end job and continue icons both appear on the ALS operating screen. The end job button will end the entire job immediately, and the continue mode allows the system to return where cutting left off. End Job Continue Manually, the lumber will need to be removed from the live deck and placed back in the correct station for either end job or continue. This procedure needs to be performed when starting or restarting the system. After the operator switches the manual mode located on the touch screen, the operator can press scan all. The trolley will scan the lumber. (Note: the quantities are updated after the system completes the first cutting cycle.) Trolley Manual Deck Manual Trolley Stop Deck Stop In order to set the Ranger system to the trolley and deck auto modes, for safety, the operator must press the trolley stop and deck stop icons to halt the manual modes before pressing the trolley and deck auto icons. The system is now ready to cut. The operator can start the auto cutting through the ALS 4.0 operating screen.
