25 AutoMill HP ™ P R O D U C T M A N U A L EN Step 26. Re-cut the same board used in Steps 1 to 11, but adjust the length 3 inches shorter. NOTE Repeat steps 1 to 26 until the angle cuts are correct. 4.4. I/O Calibration Procedure On the AutoMill HP, Heads 2, 4 and 5 feature automated in/out movement. Viewed from the front of the saw, these heads will move left and right to setup for cuts as well as to safely avoid contact with other moving components of the saw. NOTE In the AutoMill HP software I/O referred to as Lt./Rt./ (Left/Right). ! CAUTION All lumber used for the calibration process should be straight and free from defects. Section 1.2 explains how to determine if a piece of lumber is straight. 4.4.1. Head 4 & 5 I/O Calibration Step 1. Turn the Key Switch to Setup Step 2. Select SEMI on the Main Menu. Step 3. On the Board Select Menu setup 90-90 cut as shown in Figure 39. Figure 39 • Set Angle 1 and 2 to 90 • Set Height 1 to 0-3-8 • Set OA Len to 10-0-0 NOTE The remaining length values will calculate automatically. Step 4. Click SETUP on the Board Select Menu (Figure 14). Step 5. Click SETUP on the Run Menu. Step 6. Wait for the saw to move into position and turn the Key Switch to RUN. Step 11. Make note the measurements for each side of the cut piece as each angle will be calibrated separately. If the pitch of the angle on each end of the board is not 3/12 the saw is out of calibration. Continue with the next set of steps to adjust the calibration. NOTE Only follow the upcoming steps if the board did not measure correctly after performing Step 1 to Step 11 above. Step 12. Click Calibration on the Main Menu Toolbar. Step 13. Click Head 5 Angle on the Calibration Menu. Step 14. Click Unload Cal to return to SEMI. Step 15. Setup a 90-90 cut by clicking the buttons shown in Figure 38. Figure 38 Step 16. Click SETUP on the Run Menu and wait for the heads to move into position NOTE Setting up a 90-90 will automatically move Head 5 into a safe orientation to continue calibration. Step 17. Click Calibration on the Main Menu Toolbar. Step 18. Click Head 5 Angle on the Calibration Menu. Step 19. Click Move To on the Axis Calibration Screen. The Command Value Screen will open. Step 20. Using the Blade Angle Calibration Table in Appendix A, make a note of the new calibration value. Step 21. Click the command value box and enter the new calibration value (from the Blade Angle Calibration Table) using the keypad. Step 22. Click ENTER. Step 23. Click START MOVE on the Command Value Screen. Step 24. Click DONE on the Command Value Screen. Step 25. Click Calibrate on the Axis Calibration Screen.
