Adjust the regulator. Defective air cylinder Listen for air escaping from the cylinder. Replace the cylinder. Air Leak Check for free motion by disconnecting the air and manually moving the board stop. Trouble moving the board stop indicates mechanical binding. Remove the cylinder pin and actuate the cylinder by hand. If the cylinder does not move freely, replace it with a new one. Defective solenoid valve Listen for air leaks as the solenoid valve actuates. A leaking valve could indicate damage to the seals. Replace solenoid valve. If the solenoid does not actuate at all it will need to be replaced. Mechanical binding Disconnect the air and manually move the board stop. If difficult movement is experienced, make sure the board stop has proper clearance and the cylinder is easily pivoting on its mount. 7.7 Lumber "Kicks Out" from under the hold down Smaller dimension lumber Measure the width of the lumber being cut to determine if it is the correct size. Adjust the tension on the hold- downs if necessary. If the boards measure smaller than usual, manual adjustments to the hold-down height will be required to ensure adequate holding pressure (Section 5.3).. 7.8 Material Conveyor chains are not in time Chains did not properly calibrate Check calibration. Rehome the conveyors by going into the calibration screen and press home conveyor. Chain dogs are out of time Proximity sensor adjustment. Call Alpine Equipment Technical Support for help adjusting the proximity sensor for the chain dogs. Faulty proximity sensor Check proximity sensor to determine if the amber light is illuminated. Then, check the sensor and/or wiring to determine if it is functioning properly. If it is not, replace the proximity sensor. 7.9 Refuse of Incline conveyor will not start Machine is in an E-Stop Condition Determine why the E-Stop was pressed. Then, xheck all E-Stop locations to determine which one is pressed. Reset all E-Stop devices. Breaker Trip Using the included electrical schematic, locate the breaker . Check the conveyor system for mechanical blockage, then reset the breaker. If the breaker continues to trip, call a qualified electrician to identify the source of the problem. Overload Trip Using the included electrical schematic, locate the overload. Press the reset button on the overload. If the overload continues to trip, call a qualified electrician to identify the source of the problem. No Power to Relay Using the included electrical schematic, locate the control relay. When on, a red LED will illuminate on the relay. If the relay does not turn on, call a qualified electrician to identify the source of the problem. No Power to the Contactor Coil Call a qualified electrician to identify the source of the problem.
