44 AutoMill HP ™ P R O D U C T M A N U A L EN 5. Check the saw blades for sharpness. Check the carbide cutting edge for loose, chipped, or missing carbide tips. If necessary use a solvent on blades to remove pitch buildup (Section 5.1). 6. Check that the Beacon light and horn operate when the carriage moves. 6.2. Weekly 1. To remove pitch build-up, spray a cleaning solvent on: • All linear bearing rails, • Lumber stop guide rails, and • Material Conveyor In/Out guide rails Follow applicable Safety Data Sheet guidelines, and take care to wipe the solvent away from bearing seals. 2. Check the Filter/Regulator (Section 5.16). 3. Check the Incline and Refuse belt for alignment and damage (Section 5.8, 5.9). 4. Inspect saw blades and mandrels for loose blades, loose or missing bolts, set screws, and safety roll pin. Use a 3/16" hex wrench and retighten the blade-to-mandrel bolts. (Section 5.13). 5. Lubricate the Material Conveyor, Hold-down, and Material Conveyor in/out chains with Exxon SawGuide Bio SHP. Liberally spray the top and sides of the chain using a pump type garden sprayer. NOTE Exxon SawGuide Bio SHP is a synthetic, biodegradable lubricant designed specifically for use with industrial saws. Contact a local distributor for availability. 6. Check the Material Conveyor and Hold-down chains for proper tension. (Section 5.0, 5.3). 7. Check the Material Conveyor in/out chains for proper tension. (Section 5.3) 8. Check the master link block on the in/out chain assembly for loose bolts. 9. Inspect the Air Conditioning Unit as described in Section 7 of the Rittal-SK 3302.100 Manual. NOTE The Rittal Air Conditioner Manual can be found at www.rittal.com. 6.3. Monthly 1. Check tightness of set screws in all sprockets, bearings, and couplings. 2. Hand-tighten all servo cables where they plug into the motor. 6.4. Quarterly 1. Grease the following bearings with two pumps of NLGI Grade No. 2 grease: LOCATION Total # Location Heads 1, 3 & 5 Up/Down Linear Bearings 10 3-4 each slide Heads 2, 4 & 5 In/Out Linear Bearings 6 2 on each slide Carriage Drive Shaft 4 1 on each bearing Material Conveyor In/ Out Drive Shaft 8 4 on each shaft Material Conveyor (outfeed side) 2 1 on each conveyor Hold-down (outfeed side) 2 1 on each hold- down Hold-down In/Out Linear Bearings 4 2 on each slide Hold-down Up/Down Linear Bearings 8 4 on each slide Refuse Conveyor 4 2 on each end Incline Conveyor 4 2 on each end 2. Inspect the brake pads in all blade-motor brake assemblies. Replace them if necessary. (Section 5.15). 6.5. Semi-Annually Inspect the gearboxes on the incline and the refuse belt conveyor. If the gearbox has been leaking oil, remove the fill plug near the level of the center of the output shaft and fill the gearbox until oil runs out the fill plug hole. Use only Klubersynth UH1-6-460 worm gear lubricant. If the leaking is excessive, consider replacing the seals on the gearbox or replacing the entire gearbox itself. Contact Alpine Equipment Technical Support with any questions. 6.6. Yearly 1. Grease the blade motor bearings. Apply one pump of NLGI Grade No. 2 grease to each of the two grease fittings on each motor. 2. Lock and tag out the electrical in accordance with OSHA procedures (i.e. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147). Tighten all electrical connections in the main panel.
