41 AutoMill HP ™ P R O D U C T M A N U A L EN 3. Replace the mandrel set screws with NEW nylon- patch set screws (APN 1354). ! WARNING DO NOT REMOVE THE SAFETY ROLL PIN IN THE MANDREL!. If this pin needs to be removed or is damaged, replace it with a NEW pin (APN 6014). This pin is a fail-safe to retain the blade in case of set screw failure and MUST be in place. NEVER operate the saw if this pin is not in place. Very serious injury or death could occur if a running saw blade were to come off the motor shaft. 5.14. Adjusting Head 5 Pivot Point NOTE No mechanical adjustments should be made without first contacting an Alpine Equipment Technical Support. All dimensions given are reference dimensions for starting the pivot point process. The pivot point locations are critical to ensure cutting accuracy. The angle shaft attachment bolt has an indentation in the center that indicates the pivot point. The critical measurement is: • The reference horizontal distance from the front of the blade to the pivot point is 9 29/32". 9 29/32" Figure 73 5.13. All dimensions given are reference dimensions for checking the pivot points. The pivot point locations are critical to ensure cutting accuracy. The critical measurement is: • The reference horizontal distance from the cutting edge of the blade to the pivot point is 6-29/32". #1 #3 6 29/32" 6 29/32" Figure 71 ADJUSTING THE HORIZONTAL DISTANCE If the distance is adjusted, recalibrate the length (Section 4.49) and recalibrate heads 2 & 4 blade I/O's (Section 4.4.1, 4.4.2). 1. Remove the blade mandrel set screws. 2. Using a soft faced mallet, gently tap the saw blade directly over the mandrel until the measurement is correct (Figure 72).
