If the measurements are not the same, adjust one of the upper linear bearing attach plate jam nuts until the measurements are equal. 4. Tighten the lower linear bearing attach plate jam nuts (Figure 69) LOWERING THE PIVOT POINT DISTANCE 1. Loosen each upper linear bearing attach plate jam nut 1/4 turn or less until the correct measurement is obtained. Be sure that each jam nut is turned the same number of turns. 2. Verify that the slide is still level by measuring the distance with the slide at 2.00" and at 18.00". If the measurements are not the same, adjust one of the attachment plate jam nuts until the measurements are equal. 3. Tighten the lower linear bearing attachment plate jam nuts. ADJUSTING THE HORIZONTAL DISTANCE 1. Remove the blade mandrel set screws. 2. Using a soft faced mallet, gently tap the saw blade directly over the mandrel until the measurement is correct (Figure 70). Rubber Mallet Set Screws Mandrel SAFETY ROLL PIN Figure 70 3. Replace the set screws with NEW nylon-patch set screws (APN 1354). ! WARNING DO NOT REMOVE THE SAFETY ROLL PIN IN THE MANDREL!. If this pin needs to be removed or is damaged, replace it with a NEW pin (APN 6014). This pin is a fail-safe to retain the blade in case of set screw failure and MUST be in place. NEVER operate the saw if this pin is not in place.
