Step 3 – Adjust bottom guide roller closest to machine. Think of tracking a belt like riding a bicycle—the forward roller is the handlebar. The belt will adjust according to the direction in which you move the forward roller. Travel direction Moving roller this direction will track belt this direction. Figure 178 NOTE Due to slippage and roller dynamics there is a limited amount of adjustment that can be made. It is important that all the rollers are spinning. If the roller stops spinning adjust it back to the point it spins. Then move to the next roller and continue the adjustment process. Step 4 – Adjust middle guide roller the same as above if needed. Tracking rollers Figure 179 NOTE The third roller is adjustable but should not need to be adjusted except for extreme cases. Step 6 – Install the rod that connects the lacing (Figure 167) Figure 176 NOTE Use clamps and/or vice grips to hold position while threading. Step 7 – Bend the lacing rod end to keep it from sliding out Step 8 – Tension and square tail pulleys to pull up slack on the bottom Step 9 – Ensure belt does not slip with a light load of 10 – 15 lbs NOTE When the belt is tracking straight observe it for 15 minutes and then stop adjusting. 5.7.2 Waste Conveyor Belt Tensioning Step 1 – Before adjusting check pulleys to ensure they are clear of debris Vacuum sawdust o the inside of the belt.
