Clean them daily with a soft brush that has been dipped in approved cleaner fluid. Also, be sure to flush the print nozzles with cleaner fluid if the printer is not used for an extended period of time (more than 24 hrs). See the Matthews Operator Manual 8000 Plus User Guide supplied with the saw for more information (I Mark V84i Technical/Protocol Manual). 5.7 Conveyor Belt Replacement & Tensioning NOTE It is important that all conveyor belt rollers be cleaned and squared prior to starting adjustments. 5.7.1. Conveyor Belt Removal & Installation Step 1 – Loosen Tail Pulleys and put slack in the belt Step 2 – Unbend Lacing Rod and Pull it out of the belt. Step 3 – Remove the belt Step 4 – Thread the belt the same as the previous belt was threaded Step 5 – Pull the ends of the belt together, aligning the lacing 5.5.2. Removing the Z1 Actuator Step 1 – Before removing the Z1 actuator, make sure the head is all the way down against the bottom hard stops. Disconnect power from the ALS 4.0 and lockout/ tag out the machine. Now unplug power and feedback cables from the top of the actuator. ! CAUTION Failure to disconnect the power from the machine before removing the cables is not only dangerous, it WILL damage the actuator. Step 2 – Start removing the actuator by releasing the rod end that is attached to the Z-axis slide. Remove the four socket head cap screws from the bottom of the casting using an 8mm Allen wrench as shown in the Figure 174. Figure 174 Step 3 – With the rod end of the actuator free remove the right-hand roof panel. Use a 5/32" Allen wrench to remove the 11 cap screws around the perimeter of the roof panel and a 7/16" flat wrench to remove the five hex head screws that attach the right-hand panel to the middle panel. Set the removed panel aside. This will provide the necessary clearance for the Z1 actuator to be removed through the top of the saw cabinet. Step 4 – Use an 8mm Allen wrench to remove the cap screws from the trunnion mount at the top of the actuator. Carefully lift the actuator up and remove it through the top of the machine. The location of the cap screws and trunnion are shown in Figure 175.
