40 ALS 4.0 XE P R O D U C T M A N U A L EN Step 4 – Move A1 axis to 90° using the Move A1 button on the Manual Control Screen. Step 5 – Move T1 to the center of the board. For example, if the board being used is 8" wide, the position for the T1 axis should read "4.00". Step 6 – Start blade using "Saw Motor On" button on the Manual Control Screen. Step 7 – Lower Z1 using "Jog Z1 Down" button on the Manual Control Screen to cut off the end of the board. Be careful not to move Z1 down far enough to trip the software safety, or it will disable the axis. (If the axis is disabled, cycle the power on the machine and repeat Step 7). Step 8 – Send Z1 axis to zero using the "Move Z1" button on the Manual Control Screen. Step 9 – Stop the blade using the "Saw Motor Off " button on the Manual Control Screen. If not, using the B1 axis jog buttons on the Manual Control Screen, jog the B1 axis until the gauge reads 180°. Figure 68 Step 13 – Touch in the Manual Control Screen. Step 14 – Shut Down the computer. Step 15 – Open the saw cabinet door. Step 16 – Disconnect electricity and air supply. Step 17 – Lock and tag out the electrical and air supply in accordance with OSHA procedures (ie. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147). Step 18 – Remove the gauge. Step 19 – Open the main electrical control cabinet and switch the blade breaker into the "on" position. Step 20 – Close the main electrical control cabinet. Step 21 – Turn power on to the ALS 4.0 and follow standard startup & homing procedures (Section 3.1). 4.5 Calibrate the Cut Angle (A1) Step 1 – Place a piece of engineered lumber (preferably LVL) in the L1 drive axis. This board should be a minimum of 7.25" wide. Ensure the board is firmly against the back fence. The board should extend slightly past the blade. Step 2 – Engage the L1 pusher by pressing the "L1 Pusher In" button on the Manual Control Screen. Step 3 – Engage the L1 clamp by pressing the "L1 Clamp Down" button on the Manual Control Screen.
