Prior to performing any work on the FloorMaster, verify that all power to the machine has been turned off following OSHA-approved lockout/tagout procedures (OSHA REGULATION 29 CFR 1910.147). 5.4.1. Check for loose jam nuts on table legs. 5.4.2. Check for loose or missing bolts on entire machine. 5.4.3. Check gear box fluid level (total volume: 12.9 pints / 6.1 liters) NOTE Oil volume should be set by the oil level plug (Figure 43). NOTE The gear box is filled with Mobilgear 600 XP220, which is a high performance mineral oil lubricant with special additives. Under normal conditions, the initial factory fill is good for up to 10,000 hours or three years of service, whichever comes first. ! WARNING Do not mix synthetic and mineral oils. If you choose to use synthetic oil, be sure to completely drain the gearbox. Recommended replacement oils: • Mobilgear 600 XP220 – Mineral Oil (10°F to 105°F) (-12°C to 41°C) • Mobil SHC 626 – Synthetic (-20°F to 50°F) (-29°C to 13°C) • Mobil SHC 630 – Synthetic (-10°F to 115°F) (-23°C to 46°C) • Mobil SHC 634 – Synthetic (30°F to 140°F) (0°C to 60°C) Figure 43 – The Gear Box 5.3. Grease Gantry head bearings with two pumps of NLGI Grade No. 2 grease. ! CAUTION Do not over grease. Applying too much grease into a sealed bearing will blow the seals and severely reduce the bearing life. Clean off the grease fittings, attach a grease gun and apply only two pumps of grease.
