14 FloorMaster P R O D U C T M A N U A L EN NOTE When building a truss in group mode, the infeed clamp groups must be connected to prevent possible truss deformation at the gap. To connect the clamps, simply slide the pin in the center (Figures 16,17). NOTE Connecting the outfeed clamps is not required. Figure 16 – The Sliding Pin Figure 17 – The Sliding Pin Mechanism 2.3. Control 2.3.1. Group / Single Modes The main electrical enclosure has a toggle switch to change between Single and Group modes. Single mode separates the machine into two infeed stations and two outfeed stations. Group mode combines the entire table into one infeed station and one outfeed station. There are two infeed pendants and two outfeed pendants. When in single mode, this allows each station to have a pendant, primarily for clamping control. NOTE In the Group mode and for certain length trusses, blocking may be required on each end of the truss to keep the clamps from bending. For instance, a 21 ft. truss would be created in Group mode; however, there would be 19 ft. of empty clamping area. Typically, for 4x2 floor trusses, 4x4 blocks of various lengths are used as blocking to alleviate this problem. Figure 15 – Group / Single Toggle Switch
