Step 5 – Replace the chain. Step 6 – Attach the master link. Step 7 – Tighten the chain as necessary by tightening the 1 in. nuts that are threaded onto the studs. Step 14 – Clamp the truss in the second pocket using the outfeed pendant and apply the Alpine WAVE Plate connectors as required by the design. Step 15 – At the same time, install and clamp the components in the first pocket for the second truss in the order, following steps 6-12 above. When infeed and outfeed workers are finished applying Alpine WAVE Plate connectors and have cleared the area, move the gantry head across the length of the trusses in the opposite direction. Step 16 – Unclamp both pockets by turning the switch to "Open". NOTE Up to four operators can work simultaneously to unclamp and eject trusses. Step 17 – The outfeed operators can eject the completed trusses by switching to "up'' on the outfeed pendant in order to lift the lift-out arms with the truss. Figure 28 – A Completed Truss Ejected with Lift-Out Skate Wheel Conveyors Step 18 – Move the trusses onto a conveyor or stacking rail before the infeed operator flips the truss. NOTE If the outfeed operator does not lower the lift-outs, the operators on the infeed side can return the lift-out bars in the outfeed pocket to their lowered position by activating the pushbutton on the bottom of the infeed side pendant. Step 19 – Repeat this process until the production run is complete.
