25 SpeedSet P R O D U C T M A N U A L EN 4.1. Setup Step 1 – Remove any debris from the table surface (tools, lumber, etc.). Step 2 – Set up table using the SpeedSet software. (Sections 3.2, 3.3, 3.5, 3.5). Step 3 – Once the automated pucks have stopped moving, place lumber, plates, etc. on the table. Step 4 – Build the truss on the table starting with the chords at the fixed starting point. Step 5 – Place plates on the top and bottom of lumber connections per the engineering drawing. Step 6 – Set plates using a hammer. Step 7 – Remove any tools or loose objects from the table surface. Step 8 – Run the gantry across the truss. Step 9 – Raise liftouts to eject the truss (Section 4.2). Occasionally it is useful to move a puck to another location on board in the truss. To move an individual puck, refer to Section 3.5. 4. Operation ! WARNING Do not extend hands, arms or any part of the body into the machine or table while the pucks are setting up, the gantry is moving or the liftouts are activated. Failure to comply with this safety warning may result in a serious injury or fatality. ! WARNING The safety guards should not be removed under any circumstances. 4.2. Optional Liftout Operation ! WARNING Do not extend hands, arms or any part of the body into the machine or table while the pucks are setting up, the gantry is moving or the liftouts are activated. Failure to comply with this safety warning may result in a serious injury or fatality. On SpeedSet systems with an automated liftout option, the software controls which liftouts will activate for each truss. To activate the liftout, press the "Liftouts" button on the main screen. A new window will appear with a row of buttons for each setup. Press the "UP" button for the desired truss. After the truss has cleared the table, press the down button. This will automatically mark that truss as built. If all the trusses of that type are completed, the next truss will be automatically set up in the same table location. Figure 14 Liftout Control
