Manual pucks must not be used on automated axis. 6.5.2. Replacing ACME Nut An ACME Nut can be replaced if it gets damaged and doesn't move freely, or gets stripped out. To replace ACME nut, follow the steps below: 1. Move axis as far away from motor as possible using jog on controller ! WARNING Verify that all power to the machine has been turned off following OSHA-approved lockout/tagout procedures (OSHA REGULATION 29 CFR 1910.147). 2. Remove automated puck (Section 6.5.1) 3. Remove side plate of the axis's table by pulling up on it 4. Remove 3/8" bolts using 9/16" wrench or socket (Figure 74) Figure 74 6.5. Automated Axis Adjustment 6.5.1. Replacing Automated Puck Automated puck can be replaced if it gets damaged or wore up. To replace an automated puck, follow the steps below: ! WARNING Verify that all power to the machine has been turned off following OSHA-approved lockout/tagout procedures (OSHA REGULATION 29 CFR 1910.147). 1. Remove the 3/8" hex bolt in the puck using a 9/16" socket (Figure 71) Figure 71 2. Install new puck using 3/8" Hex Bolt, Lock Washer, and Washer (Figure 72, 73). 3. Tighten the Hex Bolt to torque value 40 ft-lbs. Figure 72 Figure 73
