Move the joystick to the right to move the gantry right or to the left to move the gantry left. Figure 57 Figure 58 After the plates have been partially imbedded into the truss by the gantry, use the liftouts to move the truss to the conveyor rolls that will take it to the finish press to fully embed the plates. The liftout sections are determined by the group selection on the gantry operator console (Figure 59). Figure 59 4. Operation ! WARNING Do not extend hands, arms, or any part of the body into the machine or table while the pucks are setting up, the gantry is moving, or the liftouts are activated. 4.1. Setup Step 1. Remove any debris from the table surface (tools, lumber, etc.). Step 2. Setup table using the AutoSet Plus Software (Section 3). Step 3. Once the automated pucks have stopped moving, place lumber, plates on the table. Step 4. Build the truss on the table. Step 5. Place plates on the top and bottom of lumber connections per the engineering drawing. Step 6. Set plates using a hammer on the leading edge of the plate. Step 7. Remove any tools or loose objects from the table surface. Step 8. Run the EasyRider Gantry across the truss (Section 4.2). Step 9. Raise liftouts to eject the truss (Section 4.2). 4.2. EasyRider Gantry and Liftouts ! WARNING Bodily Injury: Operator shall insure that no people are on the table in the direction of operation of the gantry prior to movement. Not doing so can result in serious injury or death. ! WARNING Bodily Injury: Operator shall insure that no people are near the gantry in the direction of operation to avoid hitting employees standing near the gantry. Not doing so can result in serious injury or death. NOTE The gantry head is responsible for partial embedment of truss plates. It should always be used in conjunction with a finish roller. The EasyRider Gantry is operated from the operator platform (Figure 57). The joystick is used to control the liftouts, and gantry movement (Figure 58).
