This is best checked by measuring the distance between the gantry cover and the motor mounting plate at each corner. The height should be the same at each corner. Step 6. Tighten the nuts on each corner of the motor mounting plate. 6.2. Guide Wheel Adjustment Guide wheels are located at the bottom four corners of the EasyRider Gantry (Figure 64). The guide wheels roll against the table frame as the gantry head moves. Figure 64 If the wheels are jamming up or skipping against the frame they must be adjusted as follows: Step 1. Position Gantry so the hood is close to a slot in the table, visually compare hood to slot, they should be parallel. ! WARNING Verify that all power to the machine has been turned off following OSHA-approved lockout/tagout procedures (OSHA REGULATION 29 CFR 1910.147). Step 2. Measure distance from the tube (where guide wheel runs) to inside edge of Gantry "A" frame at all four corners. The distance from the left and right side of the same "A" frame should be the same, and the distance between the "A" frames from bottom chord side and top chord side should be within ½ - ¾ inch of each other. Step 3. To square the gantry to the table, use a wrench to loosen the two bolts holding the housing to the frame to create space between the wheels and the frame of the table. 6. Adjustment and Maintenance ! WARNING Electricity can kill. Prior to performing any work on the AutoSet Plus, verify that all power to the machine has been turned off following OSHA-approved lockout/tagout procedures (OSHA REGULATION 29 CFR 1910.147). 6.1. Drive Chain Tensioning ! WARNING Electricity can kill. Prior to performing any work on the AutoSet Plus, verify that all power to the machine has been turned off following OSHA-approved lockout/tagout procedures (OSHA REGULATION 29 CFR 1910.147). The drive chain is located under the drive chain cover. When properly tensioned there will be no more than ½" of slack in the chain. Step 1. Remove the four bolts attaching the drive chain cover to the gantry head cover. Step 2. Remove the drive chain cover exposing the drive chain (Figure 63). 2 3 4 1 1 Motor Mounting Plate 2 Drive Chain 3 Nut (x4) – one on each corner of the motor mount plate. 4 Jam Nut (x4) – one on each corner of the motor mount plate. Figure 63 Step 3. Using a 1-1/2 inch wrench loosen the nuts located on each corner of the motor mounting plate (Figure 63). Step 4. Tighten the jam nuts 1/8 of a turn at a time until the chain has ½ inch of slack.
