Keep Equipment Guards in Place Defeating safety systems can cause serious injuries. Avoiding safety guards could cause operator injury. Notify maintenance personnel immediately if machine guards are missing or damaged. Do not operate equipment that is missing guards. Do not, under any circumstance, reach around a machine guard while equipment is in operation. Maintain a Clean Work Area A cluttered/dirty workspace could cause injury to personnel and equipment. Regularly clean work areas to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and those around you. Clean machines as directed in product manuals to maintain safe operational conditions and peak equipment performance. Product Safety Labels Safety labels increase operator awareness. Missing safety labels can lead to an operator injury. Missing safety labels will not effectively display safety hazards present. Make sure all warning labels and stickers are in their correct locations and are readable. Call Alpine Customer Service at (800) 521-9790 to obtain any necessary replacement safety labels. Lockout Tagout Always perform OSHA lock-out, tag-out when servicing equipment. This includes power and air. De-energize and de-pressurize all systems that hold current or air pressure. Turn off electric power at the breaker. Turn off air pressure. Electrical Equipment High voltage equipment is utilized. Arcing in areas of flammable or combustible materials may occur. Personnel are exposed to high voltage during operation and maintenance. Protection against inadvertent arcing that may cause a fire or explosion is lost if safety circuits are disabled during operation. Loose electrical connections could cause damage to components on your Alpine Equipment. Electrical shock can occur while working in the electrical cabinet. Turn the power supply OFF before working on the equipment. Clean sawdust from cutting equipment regularly. Inspect electrical connections to ensure wires have not become loose or frayed. All electrical components should be grounded properly. Testing may require high voltage to be on, but only as instructed. Equipment is NEVER to be operated with any safety systems disabled. Always use OSHA approved lock-out, tag-out procedures. Never store items in the equipment electrical cabinets. De-energize all circuits before working on electrical systems. Electric Shock/ Grounding Ungrounded electrical circuits create a risk for electric shock and may cause an electrical fire. Make sure to check ground cables and confirm they are attached at all times.
