7 SmartView P R O D U C T M A N U A L EN Figure 9 – Plates Mode 2.2. Plate Mode Plate Mode displays a zoomed view of the joint and how the plate is installed. This screen is useful when placing plates allowing the operator to see the precise location quickly. All plates are shown transparently for better visibility (Figure 9) Refer to Figure 9, from left to right: 1. Page Number: Page number contains the current page number and the total number of available. Scroll up and down to change pages in Plate Mode. This is a quick reference to what page is currently being viewed. Click on the top row of plates to scroll the display up, and on the bottom row to scroll the display down. 2. Joint Number: Shows the joint number exported from the job file. 3. Plate Size & Gauge: This line displays the type of plate for the shown joint (e.g. plate size: 1.5x3 & Gauge 20). The angle of plate rotation is also shown (e.g. 90°). Positive angles indicate counterclockwise rotation and negative angles indicate clockwise rotation. 4. Plate Slots: Plate slots allow you to see the plate teeth to quickly locate where the teeth are in relation to the joint. 5. Center of plate: A small dark blue dot is shown in the center of the plate for quick estimation of where the center of the plate is compared to the boards. 6. Corner Locations: A circle is drawn if the corner of the plate intersections exactly on the edge of the board. 7. Technical drawings: Provide the location of the plate in relation to the joint's boards.
