RemovalofCustomBuildingCode/ AdditionofCRC& CBC Codes (SettingsHelp) Startingwithv16.02.00theCustombuildingcodewillnolongerbeavailable.Eachbuildingcodereferencesaset of standards andcriteriathat must bemet forcompliance. Inthepast, whenastandardorcriteriawas selected thatwasnotreferencedbythechosenbuildingcode,itautomaticallychangedtoCustom.Additionallytherewas anoptionforuserstoselectCustomforabuildingcodetoallowforanyselectionofavailablestandardsandcri- teria. This Customdesignationcausedproblems fordesigners andengineers, as well as buildingdepartments, as thesedesigns oftendidnot comply withtheintendedbuildingcodeandtherewas noreferenceforthecode complianceonthetrussdesigndrawings.ThereforetheCustombuildingcodeisnowremoved. Now when selecting a building code in settings, only it's referenced set of standards and criteria are allowed. They willautomatically updatetomatchtheselectedcode. If any criteriacanbechangedthat does not comply withtheselectedbuildingcode,suchastyping0psfinplaceof10psfnon-concurrentliveloadwitharesidential code, forexample, thesoftwarealerts youthat it does not comply andchanges it back tothedefault compliant valuewhensavingthesettings. Whentheprogramencounters settings inapreviously saveddesignthat usedCustom(orsomeotheroutdated code),itpromptstoselectaspecificbuildingcode(Figure-1)whenthetrussisselectediniDesign.Afterselect- ingacodefromthedrop-downlistinthedialogwindow,itisnotrequiredthatthedesignbererun;however,ifthe designisrerun,thestandardsandcriteriaareupdatedtobecompliantwiththebuildingcodeselected.
