Loading Class Manual for intelliVIEW – Chapter 13 Attic Dormer Loads A dormer condition, shown below, requires special loading considerations. There is typically a girder attic truss on either side of the dormer area. Each girder carries half of the dormer width and half the distance to the adjacent framing. For the purposes of this example, the width of the dormer is given to be 8'.
