A sloped bearing plate is required for all slopes exceeding ½" per foot. At the low end of SpaceJoist TE a seat cut may be used in lieu of a beveled bearing plate. See DETAIL R-D. To resist sliding forces, uplift forces and Seismic forces, supplemental connections to the bearing plate may be required for slopes greater than 4". Specifying these connections is the responsibility of the building designer.
