ENGINEERING VALUE ASCE 7-10 Wind Loading SOUTHERN PINE Lumber Values The anticipated additional change to the design values of Southern Pine lumber visual grades is now moving forward. (These are in addition to the changes presented earlier this year that went into effect on June 1, 2012). On September 17, 2012 the Southern Pine Inspection Bureau (SPIB) proposed new values to the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC). The SPIB is responsible for assigning design values for Southern Pine and the ALSC is responsible for certifying them as complying with US Dept.
