5 ALS 276 MOTION CONTROL UPGRADE PACKAGE I N S TA L L AT I O N G U I D E EN 1. Connect Red, Orange, and Blue wires to load end of power filter (See drive reference table) NOTE Cut to length as needed » Red – L1' » Orange – L2' » Blue – L3' 2. Connect power cables to the labeled terminal block on new servo drive (PE – Ground, L ground attaches to ground connection on servo drive) (Fig. 5) 3. Connect resistor cables to the labeled terminal block on new servo drive (Fig. 12) » All axes except T1 use resistor cables 4. Remove enable circuit wires from black terminal block 5. Connect enable circuit wires to the gray terminal block (Fig. 6) 6. Use included orange wire and blue spade plugs to wire L1C (from servo drive) and L2C (from servo drive) to bottom of terminal block that was installed between CB11 and FU3 NOTE Refer to step 5 in "Master Controller and Keep Alive" section on page 3 » Utilize bottom and right wire channels to route wires up to terminal block location 7. Connect (6) feedback converter cables to drive port C4 labeled "feedback" a. Included in kit b. One end has 25 pin connector, the other connects to the C4 port as stated above Fig. 5 (Fully wired servo drive) Fig. 6 (Fully wired enable circuit) Blue wire with White stripe: +24VVDC White wire with Blue stripe: 0VDC Orange wire with White stripe: 1 Black wire: connects to ground (green terminal) White wire with Orange stripe: 2 (for Z1 only) Green: Ground (Fig. 3) 8. Install included multipoint cable a. Attach male end of multipoint cable to female end of 25 pin connector NOTE Cable was originally attached to C2 port on old motion control platform b. Connect ends to drives Machine VF (C3) port NOTE Check labeling on each input end of cable to verify which drive it connects to c. Attach female end of multipoint cable to male end of 25 pin connector NOTE Cable was originally attached to C2 port on old motion control platform d. Connect multipoint cables to servo drives NOTE Check labeling on each input end of cable to verify which drive it connects to 9. Connect EtherCAT Cables a. Use 1 meter cable to connect from EtherCAT port on master controller to C5 input port on L1 drive b. Use ½ meter cables to connect remaining drives, C6 output to C5 input on each » Drive Z1 (furthest to the right) will have an open C6 EtherCAT, as it is the last drive in the series Servo Drive Wiring Process:
