17 ________________ ________________ _ _ ________________________ ________________________ Piggyback T Piggyback T r r usses usses _________________ _________________ _ _ _______________________ _______________________ When roof trusses are too tall to be manufactured and/or delivered, truss manufacturers will "cap" the trusses and provide piggy back trusses. The piggybacks below are shown above the roof so that the purlin and bracing system can be seen. Special diagonal bracing on the underside of the top chords (in red) helps brace the purlins themselves, and keeps them from shifting out of plane.
